My view !

Because you are women, people will force their thinking on you, their boundaries on you. They will tell you how to dress, how to behave, who you can meet and where you can go. Don't live in the shadows of people's judgment. Make your own choices in the light of your own wisdom (Amitabh Bachchan).

Gender Equality

There are many negative effects of media nowadays. Their increase is undoubtedly linked to social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr, Snapchat and many more. “Social media is a collection of online platforms and tools that people use to share content, profiles, opinions, insights, experiences, perspectives and media itself, facilitating conversations and interactions online between groups of people” (Doreen Moran). It was created with a good purpose. It lets people share their ideas and memories, it also connects people.

This essay concentrates on the bad impacts of social media. let’s take the example of my topic “The representation of the women in the media for me this is one of the most important topics because we are in 2019 and people still judge and control the female. Portraying the women accurately and appropriately, the media misrepresents and mislead the female. Regarding Wood (1994) there are three times as many white men as women on the television, and the programs that we men’s present are more important and likely. I believe the theory of the social cognitive who said that individuals learn through observing others (Collins,2011). If teenager’s girls are not able to observe powerful, strong female who relies on their selves, who leads on the programs they watch every weekend, they will grow up with the idea that men are everything and women are unable to do anything without the existence of the men. Young girls are also not confident let’s see the example when a girl wants to post a new picture, she will spend hours editing her pictures and using all kind of apps to hide their imperfections. Why all this? Because of how the women are seen in the media, because of how they are portrayed under stereotypes that put light only on the negative side of the female.

Despite all the underrepresentation of woman, the platitudinous portrayals, replicate ,again and again, the media constantly manipulates the females and their presence within the media. Unfortunately, Women are involuntary having to fight against all this and also again the societies. In my opinion we are in the 21st century it is a big time to know the importance of the women, to accept the ability of the women , her power to manage everything alone even better than men and like said : Malala Yousafzai "When God created man and women, he was thinking, 'Who shall I give the power to, to give birth to the next human being?' And God chose the woman. And this is the big evidence that women are powerful" (Yousafzai,2018).

In conclusion, Social media has a lot of benefits, but also a lot of disadvantages. For example, the portrayals of women in the media, they show how the women are non-useful but this is not true because the world cannot exist without the existence of the women.
