The representation of the women in the media !

In my blog, I chose to write about the representation of women throughout the media including some examples such as the negative impact that the media has in the women and sexualization, because unfortunately, it still one of the major issue without our society. The television shows, news, and even the advertisement encourage about the stereotypical portrayals of the women.
The media nowadays have a large audience and it increases more and more each day, and because of that, they influence many people in society.
Also, one common thing of inequality that portrayed the women is the manipulation, marginalized, externalization and sexualization.
The past of the women in our society still here, it limits the perceptions of human potentiality and achievability. Human being gorge oneself this media unconscious engross these portrayals and create the belief of how they should act and sometimes think in depending on their sex. Inexperienced females are in huge influence by the media and their illustration of the female. As far as I am concerned, I care about this topic, about gender because I truly believe that it influences their goals in life and their dreams. I am a female and I know when we are influenced by the inequality in the media we are inundated with gender stereotypes.

Hey Nabiha! I loved reading your blog, and I agree with you that the issue of representation of women in the media is important. Personally, I believe that misrepresentation of women in media really affects our image in real life. Sexualization of women is a whole different issue, which creates a ton of problems, starting with domestic violence to rape and kidnappings. This issue needs more focus and not only from the media source owners, but also from us, regular citizens. I hope that we will be able to combat misrepresentation of women. Great blog!
